DIS-or-DER ::: A Publishing Exercise

DIS-or-DER A Publishing Exercise

Opening: 23 June 2018, Saturday 12:00 hrs.
Exhibition: 23 – 30 June on view by appointment.

Venue: Vernacular Institute (Benjamin Franklin 50, Casa C, Escandón, Mexico City, MX 11800)

A page is a river, a page is a blinking verb, a page is an architect. A page is a dancing body, is a singular noun, is a time machine. A page is an imaginary scene, a __________ and an aura for a book.

DIS-or-DER: A Publishing Exercise conveys the idea that pages – the element of books – can be staged in an exhibition as a site-specific installation. A focus of the exhibition is to push the definition of printed matter into the architectural. DIS-or-DER: A Publishing Exercise plays with the format of the book and reflects on the medium by binding together editorial and spatial perceptions.

The exhibition is initiated by Cotton Disco, founder of SUPER ADD studio (Taiwan), as a warm-up presentation of the artist’s forthcoming publication DIS-or-DER. The subject of the book’s still-life compositions explores the relationship of everyday objects and artistic scenes.

DIS-or-DER: A Publishing Exercise is part of Vernacular Institute’s ongoing Book Club series.

地點:Vernacular Institute(Benjamin Franklin 50, Casa C, Escandón, Mexico City, MX 11800)
