如果藝術機構有身體，這個身體要如何在整體文化藝術場域的生態環境裡伸展運動而達到更美妙靈活強健活潑的體態與樣貌呢？藉由參與《2017 當代一年展》的機會，台北當代藝術中心（TCAC）將呈現一個特殊計劃《TCAC藝術美甲》，邀請參觀者進入一種身體性的情境中，一起思考非營利藝術機構的作為與使命。
甫成立以來，TCAC提出對於藝術中心的各種公共想像，應對出批判思考與延伸思維與關照的位置，而機構的設計一直以來也反應了這樣的特殊身份——我們因應情境創作切題的藝術性論述生產的形式：TCAC可以是一個綜合性的跨領域藝術空間、游牧式的街邊帳篷、紙上論壇、一間酒吧，而今天在這裡，我們變身為一個藝術美甲沙龍，邀請妳／你入座，和我們暢談，並帶走一點屬於TCAC的機構色彩。這場顏色的互動際遇，希望在當下的場景中能創造出一條思考的線索以扣接從觀眾身體的參與、機構的身份、藝術生態的能量經濟循環所碰撞出的主體對話。
TCAC辛沙龍是2017年度性帶狀主題活動，旨在關照身體政治於當代社會中的各項議題。
現場展出之機構設計傢俱裝置《TCAC未來式：單元、動詞變化與論述性產製品》之部分組件由Oliver Klimpel所設計；同時展示的各項限量版作品為由國內外多位藝術家所支持，包括：

If we see an art institution as an autonomous body, how does this body exercise and move around in the relation to art ecology for its body building? How shall we evaluate the standard for coordination, balance and posture for an art center? TCAC creates a special project TCAC Nail Salon for the presentation in the 2017 Taiwan Annual, inviting art fair audience for a sensory experience to imagine the missions and works of a non-profit organization.
TCAC has proposed many ideas for how to build an art institution since the beginning, and drafted different proposals to critically shape responding positions and extended concerns. TCAC’s institutional design has been always reflecting such peculiar identity, and therefore the discursive production forms of an art center have been created according to the changing contexts–TCAC could be a multi-functional art space, a nomadic tent on the street, a paper forum, a bar, or a nail salon! Here we invite you for conversations over a manicure session, bringing a shade of TCAC colors away with you. Such color encounters are set to create a visible trace to connect audience’s bodily participation, institutional identity and the energy circulation of art ecology, producing new subjectivities in dialogues.
TCAC Salon Spice is the 2017 annual regular program at TCAC to address the relationship between body politics and contemporary society in various aspects.
