TCAC Video Lounge is a polysemous space for activities of and around moving images in Taipei Contemporary Art Center, opening the possibilities to engage and enact the concept of “image as archive” and “image as movement.” As a versatile space, it is a conceptual zone between a private room and public space with undefined destinations and determined aims—it is an imagery syndrome of the visual, audio, physical and cortical sensory activities. TCAC Video Lounge that functions as the floating memory space of TCAC is the new extension of artists’ archives, providing intimate encounters and dialogues between visiting researchers and video works.
To celebrate the grand launch event for the TCAC Video Lounge, we host an open call to collect and screen artists’ private editions of their own unexhibited or rarely shown video works. It is a peculiar sharing moment that we wish to create and connect the private corners of artists’ studios with an art space. A special peer critique via live cocktail-making reviews by audience will mediate various conversation channels to seek for the social capacity of the imagery as an open linguistic component.
It is an open call that invites your videos to be seen, shared and drunk. Bring your works and join our playlist on the spot at TCAC!
How to Participate: Please bring the file of your video work (less than 20-minute duration preferable), your spirit to share your critiques as well as reciprocity, and your appetite for running cocktails to TCAC in Feburary 3. We will kill the radio star with video art!
